Entirely handcrafted (Masterbuilt Series), it has features that make it unique and different from its reference model.
The hardware is chromed and typically Music Man (German Schaller mechanics), the body in two pieces of ash, with tonal chambers inside. It is slightly heavy, for the less tenacious, about 5.2 kg. This decidedly “important” mass allows the instrument to have a noticeable hit on the mid-bass, as this instrument must have; the “buzz” of the low action strings, which is the standard setting, is not amplified in this way, becoming a very pleasant expressive character.
Since it was designed for slap, we have raised the height of the neck by 10mm compared to the body, to offer more space for the execution of this technique. Seymour Duncan stc-2p active electronics with SD humbucker basslines passive pickup. Push / pull volume with “boost” function, of which there is a double (treble, bass) parametric emphasis inside the cutouts, through variable dimmer. Given the size of the body, a very thick headstock (21m) was created, as for the C-Jazz, to improve the vibration (sustain) of the body / neck system.
In the video Lusi plays the C-Man in a funky free jam with Filippo Pambianco.
